It was a moment of excitement and jubilation in Amazano Autonomous community in Njaba Local Government Area as the illustrious sons and daughters of Umuele Development Union in North America officially donated a hall of building to the State Primary School,Amazano and the host community.
Speaking on the occasion, the traditional ruler, Amazano autonomous community Njaba LGA, HRH Eze Ceasar Duruegbusuo commended the donors for the initiative describing it as a welcome development, a step in the right direction as he suggested the Education Trust Fund which would help immensely to finance the school.
Speaking also, the President Umuele Development Union Chief Livinus Mmadu disclosed that Umuele started early to invest on education by granting scholarships to the pupils and they work hand in hand with the donors emphasizing that the old students of the school are now men/ women of timber and calibre.
Chief Madu posited that Umuele as an entity loves investing in education adding, that education has been a priority in the community as he maintained that the development of any community is based on the level of education attainment.
Contributing, the Chairman Education Committee diaspora Chief Chidi Duru noted that they have many things to do in their alma mater as the school belong to all of them hence, the need to ensure that it did not .collapse in their very eyes as he advised that all hands should be on deck to put the school in the right stressing, that collectively they can achieve it.
Chief Duru expressed displeasure that he saw the school in a bad state as the school building was dilapidated and almost nothing, went back, informed his brothers that the school is falling apart and they unanimously agreed to put up the edifice.
Speaking also, the president emeritus Chief Ikenna Duru stated that they are kind of giving back to their alma mater as they joined hands to put up the school building for a conducive learning environment.
The president emeritus of the union thereby call on other indigenes to contribute their own quota to the development of the school equally, enjoined the school management to maintain the building.
In her remarks, the school Headmistress Mrs V. I. Ejikeme stated that her heart is full of gratitude to the donors for their king gesture to the school adding that this effort of theirs has added in no small measure to a solid academic environment.
Mrs Ejikeme thereby used the opportunity to to plead to the donors to look at other areas of challenge which is to assist the school in the changing of the wooden doors to iron doors especially basic one to basic four block, perimeter for fencing of the school in this period of insecurity among others as she appreciated some persons for their unrelenting efforts to see to the forward
moving of the school.
